Middlesex Learning Partnership

GAL Aspiring Headteacher Programme

On Wednesday 15th September we attended the GAL (Get Ahead London) Programme for aspiring Headteachers in London. A panel of people with different perspectives of education during the pandemic was assembled and an audience at Goodenough College in Central London listened appreciatively to what they had to say.

Middlesex Learning Partnership were very well represented on Panel by Lawrence Hyatt, Head of Belmore Primary Academy, an alumni of the GAL programme himself; Mandeep Bhachu a young teacher of Mathematics at Barnhill; VITH form students Nabila Moussoum and Kyran Taylor, Barnhill's Head boy. All spoke with intelligence and passion to a very interested full hall.

The main theme of the Event emerged as us being kinder to each other and more understanding of the different experiences that people have had during Covid, plus making sure that we take the best of the solution-focussed innovations forward with us in education.

Finally, a future Head in the audience told the panel that his father had attended Barnhill back in the 60's and he was incredibly impressed at how the school had progressed.  We have invited him and his father to come and visit the school, as guests in the near future.
